The Rubinstein

The Rubinstein is a handcrafted wooden chess board made from carefully selected hardwoods including sycamore maple, birch, and mahogany. Each board features precision-cut squares that provide a superior playing surface for serious chess players and collectors alike. The board is available in six sizes, ranging from 360mm to 540mm, with corresponding square sizes from 38mm to 58mm to accommodate different chess piece sets.

Choose your preferred dimensions based on the size of your chess pieces. A 38mm square typically suits Staunton pieces with a 3.5-inch king, whilst larger squares up to 58mm work well with pieces featuring kings up to 4.5 inches or more. You can also select whether you prefer the board with or without alphanumeric border notation, depending on your playing style and aesthetic preference. The combination of wood types and customisation options makes each board a unique addition to your collection.

Akiba Rubinstein was Polish, widely considered the greatest player never to become world champion. Respected, classical, deeply studied - a favourite of connoisseurs.
