Welcome to Grandmaster's Atelier! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Grandmaster's Atelier. Grandmaster's Atelier operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). Grandmaster's Atelier is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink.
SECTION 1 - ACCESS AND ACCOUNT
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your country or jurisdiction of residence. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You represent that all information provided to us is correct, current, and complete.
SECTION 2 - OUR PRODUCTS & CUSTOMIZATION
We make every effort to display the colors and images of our chess boards as accurately as possible. However, as wood is a natural material, slight variations in grain and color are expected and are not considered defects.
Personalization: Per our catalogue, we offer personalization services (e.g., engravings). Please ensure all text provided for customization is correct. We are not responsible for errors in text provided by the customer. Note: Personalized or custom-made items are exempt from the right of withdrawal (see Section 3).
SECTION 3 - RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL (EU CONSUMERS)
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire 14 days from the day you, or a third party indicated by you, receives the goods.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal: The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The supply of goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized (e.g., custom-engraved chess boards or bespoke sets).

The supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by an unequivocal statement (e.g., an e-mail to info@grandmasters-atelier.com).
SECTION 4 - PRICES AND BILLING
Prices for our products are subject to change without notice. For EU customers, prices shown include VAT unless stated otherwise. Shipping and any potential import duties for customers outside the EU are the responsibility of the customer. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases.
SECTION 5 - SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
All delivery times are estimates. For high-end "Grandmaster" sets, shipping may involve specialized carriers. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery of the product to the address provided.
SECTION 6 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on this site, including the "Grandmaster's Atelier" brand, designs, and product photography, is the property of Grandmaster's Atelier or its licensors and is protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not use our intellectual property for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
SECTION 7 - RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Grandmaster's Atelier is powered by Shopify. You acknowledge that any sales transactions are made directly between you and Grandmaster's Atelier. Shopify is not responsible for the products, their quality, or any disputes arising from the sale.
SECTION 8 - LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law (and without prejudice to your statutory rights under Dutch consumer law), Grandmaster's Atelier shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the purchase of a product shall not exceed the amount paid for that product.
SECTION 9 - LEGAL WARRANTY
As a Dutch company, we provide the legal warranty of conformity. This means that the products must meet the description provided and perform as reasonably expected by a consumer.
SECTION 10 - GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the Netherlands.
