The Junior Chess Set is a thoughtfully designed wooden set built for younger players, beginners, or those who prefer a compact format. Hornbeam and sycamore maple pieces with an 85 mm king sit on a 40 mm field board – large enough to play comfortably, compact enough for easy storage.

The pieces have a robust construction and clean proportions, making them easy to handle and identify. Felted bases protect the board surface during play. The overall build quality far exceeds mass-market plastic sets, making this an excellent first quality chess set.

A considerate gift for young players who are ready to move beyond a learner set.
