The Giewont Chess Set is a large artisan set named for one of the most iconic peaks of the Tatra Mountains. Hand-carved linden basswood pieces with a 120 mm king sit on a matching beech and birch board with 52 mm fields – a full-size set with real physical presence.
Linden is a traditional carver's wood, soft enough to work in fine detail but stable and resilient once finished. The Giewont pieces carry clean, bold profiles with a character that suits their large scale. Board and pieces share the warm, neutral tones of natural linden, creating a harmonious set that is easy to live with.
Available in different finishes. A well-made, generous set for dedicated players.
