The Zagreb '59 Tournament Set is a tribute to one of the most celebrated designs in chess history โ€“ the set used at the 1959 Candidates Tournament in Zagreb, where Bobby Fischer, Tal, and Smyslov famously competed. Crafted in acacia and boxwood with an ebonised dark set, the king reaches 90 mm with a 50 mm board field.

The Zagreb design is instantly recognisable: a squat, powerful build with a distinctive flat-top king and a knight profile that many players consider the finest ever produced. Each piece is weighted and felted. The inlaid tournament board matches the set's gravitas with careful joinery and a professional finish.

Available in several board options. An essential set for anyone who loves chess history as much as chess itself.
